I can't launch the Play Store - I get "Unfortunately Market has stopped" errors

You may experience problems trying to use the Play Store after you've upgraded to the latest version of the Play Store (version 3.4.4) using Google's OTA (over the air) process. You'll see the following error: "Unfortunately Market has stopped".

Reset your smartphone to the original factory settings

You'll need to reset your smartphone to the original factory settings to fix this problem.

CAUTION: This should only be done as a last resort. Resetting your smartphone deletes your ringtones, contacts, pictures, messages, and other downloaded content. Before you continue, make sure to back up your smartphone.

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap All.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Select Storage.
  5. Select Factory data reset.
  6. Tap Reset phone.
  7. Tap Erase everything.

The smartphone is reset to the original factory settings.
