As of March 2013, a new software version is available for the LG Optimus G.

The release of Android® Jelly Bean 4.1.1 provides the following benefits and enhancements for your smartphone:

• Notification Pane: Actionable notifications will show allowing for instantaneous actions without going straight to the app.
• Fast & Smooth: making moving between home screens and switching between apps effortless, like turning pages in a book.
• Android Beam: You can now easily share your photos and videos.
• Resizable App Widgets: Home screen app shortcuts move to accommodate App Widgets which will automatically resize.
• Google Now: Searching is faster and more relevant, as is taking photos and viewing content.

NOTE: Google is releasing this update in stages. Your smartphone will receive a notification when this update becomes available to you.
