Check for software updates

Keep your smartphone running efficiently by using the latest available software.

As of June 2012, a new software version is available for the HTC Amaze 4G.

Before you update your smartphone, you need to know your current software version.

1. From the Home screen, tap Menu.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Select About phone.
4. Tap Software information.
   • If your Android version is 4.0.3, you don't need an upgrade.

Before you begin

Before you begin, you will need to do the following:

• Ensure that your smartphone battery is fully charged, or connected to a power source.
• Ensure that you have an active Wi-Fi or data network connection.
• Ensure that an active Micro SD memory card is installed in your smartphone.
• Back up your smartphone before you install the update.

Check for automatic update notifications

Typically, you will receive a notification anytime a software update becomes available. To check for notifications and install updates, do the following:

1. On the top left corner of the Home screen, an update notification icon appears.
2. Swipe down on the icon. The Notifications screen displays.
3. Tap System update available.
4. Tap Download.
5. When the download is finished, tap Restart & Install.

The available update is installed.

Manually check for system updates

You can manually check for available software updates. Do the following:

1. From the Home screen, tap Menu.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Select About phone.
4. Select System software updates.
5. Tap Check now.
6. If your system is currently up to date, There are no updates available for your phone will display.
